Week of Sept. 7

Friday
Caught ‘Ya #15:
her and her freinds jabbed there noses in the air and didnt even say hello to harold
Vocab: none; "jab" as an example of a strong verb (use strong verbs in your writing)
Checked out The Killer Angels novel from the library (issued to each student). Don't begin reading yet - if absent, check out from library aide when you are on campus again.
Acted out The Comedy of Secession.
Homework: Original sentences with vocab words due Monday. Vocab/spelling test early next week. Test will also include literary elements and parts of speech.





Thursday

Caught ‘Ya #14:
belinda and her cohorts took one look at harolds ugly brown glasses round face and serious expression and the hole crew dissmised him as worse then the kid gnarly nerd
Vocab: cohort
Did w/s 10B (There You Are). Decided on parts for The Comedy of Secession.
Homework: Prepare your lines if you have a part in the play. Think about the meaning behind the play.






Wednesday
Caught ‘Ya #13:
their was belinda beautiful a pulchritudinous babe with long blond hair and desiner close who was queen of the snobs
Vocab: pulchritudinous
Did w/s 26 (Verbs Doing Two Jobs) and w/s 10A (There You Are). Handout: The Comedy of Secession. Read through and decide what, if any, part you would like. We'll discuss tomorrow in class and present on Friday.
Homework: w/s 14: Verbs Alive. Put a line through the italicized word and write another over it. Write a sentence on the lines using a verb that is alive.




Tuesday
Caught ‘Ya #12:
there were other clutches of kids in harolds classes but they didnt want to of anything to do with a four eyed wierdo either
Vocab: clutch (collective noun)
Collected Windows of Wonder answers. Read part of Mr. Pickwick Goes Skating, by Charles Dickens.
Homework: Finish the story; answer questions 1-5 on p. 91.
