Afterwards, there was time for silent reading and AR testing. The vocab quiz from Tuesday was returned.

Think of one theme and an example of it from A Christmas Carol.



Thursday
Timelines due.
Students took the second vocabulary test for A Christmas Carol.
Afterwards, there was time for silent reading, AR testing, and studying for tomorrow's quiz.
Homework:
Study for tomorrow's study guide quiz.



Wednesday
No school for students - Staff Development day.



Tuesday
Students took the AR test for A Christmas Carol and the first vocabulary test on the book.
Thereafter, we spent some time in the computer lab getting more practice with analogies.
Homework:
Timeline due Thursday. On Thursday we'll also take the second vocab quiz. On Friday will come the test based on the study guide.

Vocab: sneered
We worked on analogies using vocabulary from A Christmas Carol. Students used thesauri and dictionaries to help with the activity.
Then students began a worksheet about similes in the story. Since this generated quite a bit of discussion, we will continue in class tomorrow.
Homework:
Tomorrow we take the AR quiz on A Christmas Carol and the first vocab test.
Have your plot diagram/story map with you. Vocab Quiz #2 is Thursday.
