Week of Sept. 6

Friday
Students took the Roots and Vocab tests (we will grade them next week).
In the computer lab, students worked in groups to draw up their plot diagrams of "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi," also giving their rationale as to why they organized the parts of the plot the way they did. We will continue with this on Monday after the Dies Drear AR test.
Homework:
The House of Dies Drear assignments due Monday.

Thursday
We continued working with "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi," examining plot components.

Students discussed possible themes in the story. Remember that a theme is not a word or a phrase - it's at least one sentence (try the Most Important Word strategy).
