Students worked in pairs to decipher literary elements in song lyrics. Then they viewed a short movie depicting examples of lit. elements in songs.

Students worked in pairs to decipher literary elements clues. The result will be their study guide.

Students received a handout with the directions and rubric for the Literary Devices assignment.

Friday
Early release - special schedule.
Students worked on Medical Mayhem to complete the crossword and find the culprit and the weapon.

Thursday
Students took a reading comprehension quiz, which we graded right away. Students then logged in to Prezi.com or made an account and then experimented with the program. We will be using it next week for a project.

I read Courage to the class. Their assignment was to write about what courage meant to them and add a visual. We also developed a rubric for judging the top three, which we will vote on tomorrow.

We read The Tell-Tale Heart and then watched a short movie based on the story.
In a good paragraph (min. 8 sentences) students were to compare the print version with the movie version.
Students then worked on Activity #2.
