Week of May 17
Friday
Students had time in the computer lab to type up their survival project and take AR tests.
Homework:
Survival project due Monday.
Thursday
Students shared and turned in the modern-day Cinder Tale (including 5 common ingredients and 2 themes). We then discussed the survival project, and had time for reading and AR tests.
Homework:
AR comprehension and points due tomorrow.
Tomorrow we will have time in the lab to work on the survival project.
Wednesday
Students took the online portion of the Adv. Language Arts Final Assessment.
Afterwards, there was time to work on their original, modern-day Cinder Tale.
Homework:
Tales will be presented on Thursday. Remember to list the common ingredients and themes.
Tuesday
Today we finished the presentations and then brainstormed what characteristics Cinderella tales have in common (5 ingredients and 2 themes from each group). After sharing these out to the class, groups were challenged to create their own Cinderella (or Cinderfella) tale in a modern setting.
Homework:
Tomorrow we take the online portion of the Advanced Language Arts Assessment and work on the Cinderella tales, if time permits. We will present the tales on Thursday.

Students shared and turned in the double-bubble thinking map of "Yeh-Shen" and "The Twelve Months" as well as their write-ups of the two Cinderella tales.

More presentations tomorrow.
