The Open Mind Activity:
Students were broken into six groups. Each group focused on one of the stages (beginning, middle, end) for either the banker or the lawyer.
Using "The Bet" story and their completed worksheet from last night, inside a "blank mind" students were to draw symbols or select phrases from the text to represent either the banker's or lawyer's thoughts at that point in the text. Outside the diagram, they explained why they chose those particular symbols and phrases.
